The study is devoted to the analysis of global trends in investment in sustainable development. It is based on a literature review. The qualitative and quantitative indicators provide an assessment of the current conditions of the sustainable investment market and a forecast of its further development. Particular attention is paid to the prerequisites for the emergence of the market, assessment of its participants, as well as an overview of the main forms of sustainable investments. The paper concludes with an assessment of the Russian sustainable investment market and a forecast of its further trends. The conclusions drawn may be useful both for academic economists engaged in sustainable development issues and for top managers of companies planning to enter international capital markets.
