The article discusses the features of the organization of operational planning in the conditions of a poultry production and trading holding, formulated the requirements for the formation of a production order based on ensuring consistency between the production of products and its shipments to customers using the optimal amount of resources. The analysis of inventory and production management techniques has been carried out, errors in the organization of operational supply and production management based on the analysis of current orders have been identified. The conditions for effective inventory management are defined, including: improvement of motivation and change of attitude to work; organization of work according to clear goals; indicators and deadlines; orientation of managers to a specific result, not a process; information support of business processes; cost control. The change in the principles of inventory management is justified, a promising model of the organization's logistics development is considered. The strategy of regional and product specialization of the holding's logistics system is proposed, aimed at optimizing the costs of managing warehouses and commodity flows, the costs of storing and delivering products, including direct supply, cross-docking supply, and regional distribution. A mathematical model of the process of changing the inventory has been formed, which makes it possible to increase the accuracy of forecasting and determine the probable corridor of deviations of orders from the average and adjust forecasts by the value of this corridor.
