STRATEGIC PRIORITIES FOR IMPROVING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF MESO-LEVEL SYSTEMS

Abstract

Solving the problem of increasing competitiveness requires the implementation of a whole range of measures, since at the macro and meso levels it is determined by a diverse set of factors, namely, public policy instruments and the quality of institutions that determine the creation, production, distribution and maintenance of commodity flows in global markets. The article evaluates the level of competitiveness of industrial complexes of the Stavropol Territory, evaluation criteria are developed taking into account the specifics of the region's industries, and the influence of factors in accordance with the Porter model on the possibilities of increasing the level of competitiveness of meso-level systems in global markets is determined. The possibility of using the Porter's five forces model to develop a strategy to increase the competitiveness of the agro-industrial complex and the chemical industry of the Stavropol Territory is substantiated. A comprehensive solution to the problem of increasing the level of competitiveness of territorial and industrial complexes requires the participation of all interested actors: the state, business and the scientific community.
