Abstract

The oil and gas industry is the most important element in the structure of the Russian economy, the main source of tax and foreign exchange revenues for the state. The digital transformation of the oil and gas segment is characterized by the introduction of intelligent digital technologies, one of which is the technology of unmanned aerial vehicles (hereinafter referred to as UAVs). The article is devoted to the analysis of the technology of unmanned vehicles as a new trend in the development of the oil and gas industry. The main possibilities and promising directions of unmanned technologies at the stages of oil exploration and production are determined; stages of oil refining; transportation and storage of oil and gas. The author evaluates the benefits of using unmanned aerial vehicles in the oil and gas industry, including direct economic benefits from reducing operating costs, as well as benefits associated with the prevention of risks to human life and health, environmental, rehearsal and other risk factors. It was revealed that the saving of time and financial costs when using unmanned systems is 25-75% compared to the traditional manual method of checking at the stage of oil production. Recommendations are presented to increase the speed of introducing unmanned aerial vehicles technology into the business processes of oil and gas enterprises, including: cooperation between oil companies for the purpose of exchanging data, lobbying for the introduction of legislative regulation of unmanned aerial vehicles, ensuring the necessary competencies for employees. The obstacles that have arisen on the way of introducing the technology of unmanned aerial vehicles in the oil and gas sector are identified. Prospects for further research are the assessment of the economic efficiency of the use of unmanned aerial vehicle technologies by oil and gas enterprises, as well as the identification of specific models of aircraft that are most suitable for the needs of the industry.
