There are many factors of labor productivity and conditions for its increase. The main factors of labor productivity include the skills and abilities of workers, technical working conditions, labor safety conditions, scientific and technological progress. However, the use of these factors often turns out to be insufficient, since the highly effective use of production factors for increasing labor productivity can be hindered by inadequate positioning of the manager and his subordinate in the production process. The purpose of the article is to trace the evolution of the views of economic, psychological and sociological literature on the relationship between a leader and a subordinate in a work team and a social group, as well as the influence of the "Leader-Follower" interaction on the employee's attitude to work.
