Formation of an investment niche: regional aspect

Attracting investments into the regional economy in modern society is one of the most important tasks, the solution of which affects the characteristics of the effectiveness of the government, contributing to the improvement of the investment attractiveness of the region. At the same time, the modification of forms and methods of investment policy formation has certain differences depending on the region. Almost every subject of the Russian Federation has investment niches where investments pay off, but it is necessary to analyze how promising they are in the future.
In this article, based on the collection, generalization and analysis of information on the procurement of products by enterprises and organizations of the Republic of Mordovia in 2018-2020, as well as expert assessments, the possibility of forming investment niches in the region is considered. Groups of demanded productions are allocated. The authors have made an attempt to systematize investment niches on various grounds. The investment niches were divided into 4 blocks: the most promising investment niches, for the implementation of which the republic has a raw material base, production, personnel; promising investment niches, the implementation of which is associated with a large number of potential risks; investment niches that require expertise, clarification and coordination of line ministries and large economic entities - interested consumers, the implementation of which is impractical at the present time; investment niches, the development of cooperative ties of which is possible within the "Wagon Building" cluster and "Lighting engineering and optoelectronic instrumentation".
According to the authors, the formation of new investment niches will contribute to the development of cooperative ties between republican enterprises on the production of specific products with certain consumer properties. The results of such studies can contribute to improving the investment attractiveness of the region, as well as informing and attracting potential investors.
