The article considers measures of state support for small and medium-sized businesses in developed and developing countries of the world, since in recent years, this sector of the economy has become a factor in the sustainable strengthening of national wealth, labor productivity and the provision of high-quality services. This became possible with the introduction of innovative projects, the construction of business models and the introduction of digital technologies at different levels. However, small and medium-sized businesses are under pressure from large firms and corporations, which hinders their further development. Also a negative factor for the successful development of SMEs is the crisis caused by sanctions pressure from unfriendly countries.
In this regard, the article analyzed the world experience in supporting SMEs and identified priorities in the field of digitalization of small and medium-sized businesses, which can be divided into four areas: institutional and regulatory, the formation of human capital, the use of digital innovations and technologies.
