The oil and gas industry is the leading one in the Russian economy, as it provides a significant part of export income, due to the fact that oil and gas are produced at many fields located throughout Russia. Recently, the country's economy has faced a number of challenges, including falling oil and gas prices, as well as the imposition of sanctions by many countries, which affected energy exports. At the same time, Russia continues to occupy a leading position in the global oil and gas industry, and is actively working on the development of new fields and the export of raw materials, so it is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of enterprises in order to develop tools to improve efficiency.
The analysis was carried out on the basis of the company's accounting statements and calculated financial stability coefficients. In this study, clustering of fuel and energy complex enterprises was carried out, ranking of indicators was carried out, and efficiency estimates for oil companies were calculated using the DEA method.
