The article is devoted to the issues of supporting the practices of initiative budgeting, the development and implementation of which as a tool for involving citizens in the budget process is defined in the strategic planning documents of the Russian Federation. Mechanisms for supporting the practices of initiative budgeting form an infrastructure, the presence of which contributes to a better and more effective implementation of practices and projects of initiative budgeting, as well as increases its awareness among the population and increases the degree of involvement of citizens in this instrument of public policy. In order to achieve the goal and solve the tasks set in this article, research was conducted on the main mechanisms for supporting the practices of initiative budgeting, as well as an analysis of their quantitative indicators. Based on the results of the study, conclusions were drawn about the current state of the support infrastructure for the practices of initiative budgeting in the Russian Federation and a set of measures for its improvement was proposed.
