STATISTICAL ASSESSMENT OF THE INFLUENCE OF ANTI-RUSSIAN SANCTIONS ON THE DYNAMICS OF MACROECONOMIC INDICATORS

The relevance of the study is due to the unprecedented number of economic sanctions imposed on the Russian economy since 2014. In this paper we will assess the impact of economic sanctions on the dynamics of a number of macroeconomic indicators characterizing the development of the Russian economy. The study verifies the hypothesis about the negative impact of economic sanctions on the development of the Russian economy using the methods of economic and mathematical modeling. The following indicators were chosen as indicators that directly or indirectly characterize the state of the Russian economy: GDP (in current prices, in billion rubles), the price of Brent oil (annual average price in USD per barrel), the annual average exchange rate of the ruble against the US dollar, the rate of industrial production (in % compared to the previous year), the price of gas (annual average price in USD per 1000 cubic meters). The results of the study showed a significant strong linear relationship between the number of sanctions imposed on the Russian economy and the value of GDP. For the other indicators under study, the correlation coefficient was insignificant.
