Abstract

In modern conditions of economic globalization and increasing foreign policy pressure, the issues of improving the mechanisms for managing the sustainable development of regions are of particular importance. The relevance of the research topic is determined by the need to find effective tools for managing regional development in conditions of economic instability and sanctions restrictions. The management of regional development is one of the key reasons for the low results of the reform of the population's life support systems. At the same time, the insufficient effectiveness of the implementation of strategic regional development plans is of particular concern, which jeopardizes the achievement of sustainable development goals. Modern challenges require rethinking approaches to managing regional development. There is a clear imbalance in the implementation of the economic, social and environmental components of sustainable development, where priority is given to the economic component. This leads to the need to develop new integration management mechanisms capable of ensuring balanced development of all areas of the regional system. The study of social changes as the main factor in the effectiveness of managing the development of the region's economy is of particular relevance. In modern conditions, it is entrepreneurial activity and innovative development that are becoming key drivers of sustainable growth of regional economic systems. The research is conditioned by the need to form new approaches to managing regional development that can ensure: efficient use of available resources, stimulating entrepreneurial activity, introducing innovative technologies, harmonizing socio-economic development, and ensuring environmental safety. Improving the mechanisms for managing the sustainable development of the region is not just a scientific task, but an urgent need for modern regional management practice.
