THE IMPACT OF DIGITALIZATION ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN RUSSIA AND ABROAD

The study is devoted to the analysis of the impact of digitalization on the sphere of intellectual property (IP) in the context of the digital transformation of the economy. The purpose of the work is to identify key trends, problems and prospects for the development of the IP protection system in Russia and leading foreign countries. The methodology includes a comparative analysis of the dynamics of key indicators (Global Innovation Index, Property Rights Protection Index, R&D expenditures, publications and patents in the field of artificial intelligence) for 2020-2024 in eight countries, as well as Pearson correlation analysis. The results indicate a high positive relationship between investment in R&D, activity in the field of AI and the level of innovative development. The conclusions emphasize the need to strengthen investments in R&D, accelerate the digitalization of Rospatent, and modernize civil legislation to adapt to digital standards.
