The intensification of geopolitical tensions and the fundamental transformation of the global economic system determine the paramount importance of ensuring the national economic security of the Russian Federation. At the same time, foreign economic activity acts as a source of potential risks and a tool for increasing the economic stability of the state. In this regard, the analysis of foreign economic activity becomes necessary for the development and implementation of measures to strengthen the national economic security of the country.
The methodological basis of the study includes the use of a systems approach, comparative analysis, as well as econometric methods, which allows achieving a high degree of scientific validity and reliability of the results obtained.
The study analyzes the role of foreign economic activity in ensuring national economic security. Foreign economic activity is considered as a key factor influencing the economy's resilience to external shocks. As a result of the conducted research, the main trends in the development of the foreign economic activity of the Russian Federation have been identified, including the diversification of the commodity structure of exports, strengthening positions in traditional markets and developing cooperation with new partners.
The results of the conducted research have significant relevance and scientific, as well as practical value for specialists in the field of international economic relations, economic theory and political economy. They can be useful for civil servants responsible for developing strategies for sustainable economic development and increasing the competitiveness of the state.
The publication was completed within the framework of the State Assignment for 2026 «Conceptual approaches to the formation of mechanisms of national economic sovereignty of the Russian Federation in the context of unprecedented global challenges».
